The United Christian Church invites the public to enjoy Music and Reflection for the Season of Advent Sundays at 4 p.m. The church is at 18 Searsmont Road/Route 173 in Lincolnville Center.

The 50-minute programs include seasonal music, selected readings and moments of silent reflection. The second Sunday of Advent, Dec. 10, will feature the Mill Street Songsters.

The Mill Street Songsters is a group of seven choral music enthusiasts who have been singing together off and on for many years. They are an a cappella group that enjoys a wide range of music, from madrigals to African folk music to hymns to shape-note songs, as well as some original music. Members of the Mill Street Songsters also have performed with the Midcoast Community Chorus, the Quasimodal Chorus and the trio Northern Spies.

The group is based in Camden, although members come from several surrounding towns, and, as the name suggests, the group usually meets on Mill Street. All faiths are welcome. A free-will donation will benefit the UCC Music Ministry.

The United Christian Church was built as the town's meetinghouse in 1821. It has the original boxed pews, upper pulpit, gallery and 12-over-12 windows; and is one of the few Maine historic meetinghouses in year-round use.
