Maine Community Foundation’s Rose and Samuel Rudman Library Trust is accepting applications for grants to support programs at libraries in Aroostook, Hancock, Knox, Penobscot, Piscataquis, Waldo and Washington counties.

The Rose and Samuel Rudman Library Trust was established in 1986 to help libraries better serve Maine communities with populations of less than 10,000. On business travels in Maine, Samuel Rudman was struck by the commitment to learning and reading at libraries in towns he passed through, regardless of size.

Rudman grants are all about the book. They allow small libraries to create programs tied to their collection, share resources, collaborate with community groups, and find other innovative ways to serve the community.

Grant proposals must be submitted by Jan. 15, 2018. For complete guidelines, application form, and a list of recent grants, visit
