Come Boating! community boating group and Belfast Free Library are teaming up for a second year to offer four evening programs about adventures on the water. All programs will be held in the library's Abbott Room, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The Winter Adventure Series opens Tuesday, Jan.16, with a talk by Todd French of French & Webb. Located in Belfast, French & Webb is one of Maine’s premiere yacht builders specializing in custom boat construction and restoration.

French will give an overview of the exceptional projects they have completed over the last 20 years in business, using cutting-edge methods in combination with traditional craftsmanship.

One recent project is the Herreshoff New York 40 Marilee, which came to French & Webb for a two-year extensive refit in the fall of 2014 and won the 2017 Camden Classic Cup.

French & Webb has also been a key player in the renaissance of the historic Belfast waterfront.

The series continues Tuesday, Feb. 20, with a film presentation of "Go Ganges!" This adventure documentary film follows two friends, television producers and adventure travelers Josh Thomas and J.J. Kelley, as they test their skills on an epic adventure down India’s sacred Ganges River.

On Tuesday March 20, Camden author W. Hodding Carter will give an illustrated talk, "The Arnold Expedition," about his recent voyage in a replica 18th-century bateau retracing Benedict Arnold's 1775 expedition to sack Quebec City for the Continental Army.

The series concludes Tuesday, April 17, with a film presentation of "Losing Sight of Shore," a documentary by Sarah Moshman about the extraordinary journey of four brave women who set out to row the Pacific Ocean from America to Australia. This special screening is made possible with support from Front Street Shipyard.

These programs are free and open to the public. For more information, call the library at 338-3884, ext.10.
