The Mallett Brothers Band returns to the Unity College Center for the Performing Arts, 42 Depot St., for another night of classic Maine music Friday, Jan. 26, at 7 p.m.

With a style that can ranges from alt-country to Americana, country, jam and roots rock, MBB is a musical melting pot influenced equally by the singer/songwriter tradition as by harder rock, classic country and psychedelic sounds. While remaining fully independent, The Mallett Brothers Band has performed at some of the country’s top venues and festivals. Last summer, they wowed Union Fairgoers with a last-minute show. Jon Fishman will be joining MBB on its spring tour in April.

The Work Trucks will open the evening, led by singer/songwriter Brendan Lake and featuring Chris Lannon.

Tickets are $15, at the door or in advance at uccpa.unity.edu. Also on sale are tickets for the annual Murder Mystery Dinner Feb. 10, which regularly sells out. Up next, on Friday, Feb. 2, is Fules Gold at 7 p.m. ($12).
