The Friday Night Flix film series’ Fantasy-themed films for January conclude Jan. 26 with “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” (2004, USA). Screenings are free and take place at 7 p.m. in the Abbott Room of the library, 106 High St.

What if you could erase painful memories from your brain— would you choose to do so? After learning that his ex-girlfriend, Clementine (Kate Winslet), has had a procedure to erase him from her mind, Joel (Jim Carrey) decides to undergo the same procedure. But as his memories of Clementine start to fade, Joel realizes how much he still loves her. And instead of erasing her, he fights to keep her memory alive. This mind-bending, (okay, trippy) drama could only come from the brilliant mind of screenwriter Charlie Kaufman, who took home the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
