With the finish line in sight, the wrestlers of Mount View competed in the final dual-meet of the regular season — with the league championships in sight — against Skowhegan, Dirigo of Dixfield, Morse of Bath and Oxford Hills of South Paris on Saturday, Jan. 27.
The Mustangs finished 1-3 in four matches, as Mount View’s lone win came against Dirigo 36-33, and they lost to Skowhegan 59-9, Morse 52-12 and Oxford Hills 57-18.
The individual Mount View results, with Mustangs listed first, were:
113 pounds — Morgan Fonger was pinned by Jake Craig, Skow; lost to Blaine Wilkins, Dir; was pinned by Jordan Douglas, Mor; and pinned Jayda Stevens, OxH.
126 pounds — Emma Fonger lost to Robert Davies by technical fall; won by forfeit over Dirigo; lost to Gaige Kindlimann, Mor, by major decision; and was pinned by Jaden David, OxH.
138 pounds — Zachary Ward pinned Rachel Tuck, Skow; pinned Dave Pelletier, Dir; and lost to Mason Savary, Mor.
Mark Ward pinned Justin David, OxH.
145 pounds — Mark Ward won by forfeit over Dirigo and Morse.
Zach Ward pinned Frankie Wells, OxH.
152 pounds — Michael Cole was pinned by Samson Sirois, Skow.
Jason Barnard won by forfeit over Dirigo; lost to Isaiah Cogswell, Mor; and lost to Dylan Cobbett, OxH, by major decision.
160 pounds — Jason Barnard beat Connor Dore, Skow.
Michael Cole won by forfeit over Dirigo and Morse; and lost to Talon Mederios, OxH, by technical fall.
170 pounds — Matthew Barnard was pinned by Jon Bell, Skow; pinned Chase Nelson, Dir; was pinned by Sam Strozier, Mor; and was pinned by Dawson Stevens, OxH.
