Eben Allen Brown of Studio City, Calif., passed away Jan. 26, 2018, after a brief illness.

Born Oct. 27, 1959, in Belfast to Mike and Mary Brown, he was the younger brother of Beth Fournier of South Portland and Susan Brown of Northport; and uncle of Douglas Fournier of Northport and Patrick Fournier of South Portland.

Eben was a 1978 graduate of Belfast Area High School; and graduated from University of Maine at Presque Isle in 1983.

During summers he was employed by Pen Bay Towing as a deckhand-engineer. He was extremely dedicated and loyal to his work. After college Eben enlisted in the U.S. Air Force as a satellite technician, traveling extensively. Upon completion of his military years Eben continued his maritime interests at Portland Tugboat and Ship Docking Co. in Portland Maine .

In the late 1990s Eben moved to California to pursue other interests and a warmer climate.

For 20 years he was employed by FedEx. Eben and his truck were a common fixture delivering throughout the Hollywood Hills.

Eben enjoyed traveling with his many close friends at every opportunity. He especially liked Mexico, South Florida and Europe. He looked forward to his summer vacation at his family home in Saturday Cove, Northport.

We will miss his kind, generous and loving spirit.

Eben would want his friends and family to "Pay it Forward" with a kind gesture to our fellow human beings.

A memorial will be held this summer in Maine
