River Arts invites artists throughout Maine to submit artwork for jurying in its upcoming exhibition, “Artists’ Choice.” Artists can submit up to three works in any medium including sculpture, photography, collage, painting, ceramics and fine craft — representational or abstract.

Work can be delivered anytime during gallery hours until the deadline, Saturday, Feb. 10, at 4 p.m. The exhibition will hang through March 9, with an opening reception Friday, Feb. 16, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The juror for the show is Tina Ingraham. She is a recipient of many awards including grants from the Guggenheim Foundation and Maine Commission for the Arts; and has taught in a variety of teaching environments including Bowdoin College, Stephens College and workshops in Italy, Colorado and Maine. Her work is exhibited at Greenhut Galleries, Somerville Manning Gallery and Boston Art, Inc.

Entry fee is $20, $15 for members. Artists will be notified by email or phone of the juror’s decision. Submissions may not have been shown at River Arts previously. Entry forms are available online at riverartsme.org and at the gallery, 241 U.S. Route 1, when submitting. All works must have artist’s name on the back.

Queries and requests may be directed to River Arts at 563-1507 or info@riverartsme.org. River Arts is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

River Arts holds 10 themed, open, juried exhibitions per year, with some of Maine’s most prominent art community members as jurors. More than 1,000 different Maine artists have exhibited in these shows. The gallery program creates opportunity for artists to have their work selected, participate in the gallery process and sell their work. More than 7,000 people visited the gallery and participated in events and workshops last year.
