The Monroe Lions have invited Jonathan Fulford to speak Tuesday, March 6. Fulford, a Monroe resident, is running for the Democratic nomination to vie with incumbent Republican Rep. Bruce Poliquin for the congressional seat representing Maine's 2nd District.

The event begins with a social hour at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Fulford will speak after dinner about how he became interested in politics and will discuss the issues he feels are important to the people of Maine. A Q&A session will follow.

The meeting will be held in the basement of Monroe Community Church on Route 139 and is open to the public. The cost of the dinner is $5. The Lions are anticipating a large turnout, and ask that anyone interested in attending RSVP via email to mschaab@mma.edu.
