The Harlow Art Center invites artists to submit artwork to “Art2018,” the 23rd annual juried show and the first to be held at the new location, 100 Water St. “Art2018,” open to all Maine artists and to any artist with a strong connection to Maine, will be on view May 9 through June 2. An opening reception will be held Wednesday, May 9, from 5 to 7 p.m., with an awards ceremony at 6 p.m.

This year’s juror is the Midcoast’s Bethany Engstrom, a curator, artist and educator who lives in Belfast. Engstrom is associate curator at the Center for Maine Contemporary Art in Rockland and previously was at the Farnsworth Art Museum. She has taught as an adjunct instructor at Unity College and the Intermedia MFA program at the University of Maine. She is just finishing up an Ellis-Beauregard Foundation in Rockland; and was a 2013 Fellow at Mildred’s Lane.

The deadline for electronic submissions is 11:59 p.m. Sunday, April 1. Original fine art in any media may be submitted including hand-pulled prints, photography, sculpture; and fine crafts including ceramics, glass and fiber art. Jewelry and clothing are not eligible. Each artist may submit up to three works of art, which must be the artist’s own original work created within the last three years.
