The Farwell Project plans to present and celebrate tales of Waldo County and beyond in a series of story-and-food events in and around the historic Farwell Mill.

The Call for Stories series will begin Sunday, March 4, at 2 p.m. with “legends of the land,” told by Penobscot grandmother Carol Dana and served up with frybread and smoked fish. Space at the Farwell Mill and Museum, 37 Gordon Hill Road, is limited, so reserving a spot by calling 568-1213 or sending email to thorndikemillmaine@gmail.com.

Several more events are planned through June, and all will be recorded in audio and video. More information, including suggested donations for events listed, is available online at thorndikemill.org. Those who have stories to tell are encouraged to call or email. The series is a project of Timelines Community, Inc, a 501(c)(3) Maine organization, produced through a grant from Maine Community Foundation.
