Penobscot Theatre Company has issued an open casting call for roles in its upcoming season. Adults, and youth age 10 and older, will be seen Saturday and Sunday, March 24 and 25, between 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Extending from September 2018 through early July 2019, the season includes seven professional productions, each running for three to four weeks with three to four weeks of rehearsals during evening and weekend hours. Various roles are available for men and women of all ages. One dramatic, non-musical role exists for a girl age 10 to 13; all other youth roles require strong vocal ability. AEA and non-AEA actors alike are encouraged to audition.

The company will schedule auditions in 5-minute slots. Interested parties must send an email to with the subject line "Audition Request"; include in the body of the email the name and phone number of the person who wishes to audition and whether he or she will sing.

Everyone should prepare a two-minute contemporary monologue (memorized); and bring a headshot and resume stapled together. Vocalists also should be prepared to sing 16 bars of a song of their choosing. An accompanist will be provided, but vocalists must bring sheet music. An additional monologue or song may be requested, so participants should prepare accordingly.

Callbacks will take place throughout the spring and summer. No phone calls are accepted.
