On Feb. 25, 23 people from the Lincolnville Snowmobile Club, Rockport Steel, Bank of America staff, and Coastal Mountains Land Trust moved a 36-foot, 500-pound bridge 0.4 miles through the McLellan-Poor Preserve in Northport, using the Snowmobile Club's machine, brute strength, mechanical advantage, and creative problem-solving.

Come spring, volunteers will return to place the bridge over Ramsey Brook to allow for a dry, safe hiking experience all the way from Route 1 to the Herrick Road trail heads.

The Land Trust thanks all who helped on the day of the move, and with brainstorming, field visits, and creative construction that preceded it.
