"Good Morning, Belfast!" will launch its first week of programs with interviews of local community leaders: Stephen Ryan, executive director of Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce, and Zachary Schmesser, executive director of Our Town Belfast.

"Good Morning, Belfast!" will be broadcast on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 to 9 a.m. The first two shows feature Ryan on Tuesday, March 6, and Schmesser on Thursday, March 8.

The program will be carried on these community media: Belfast Community TV (BCTV) Cable Channel 2; Rockland Community Television’s Maine Coast TV station; Belfast Community Radio (BCR) WBFY 100.9 F.M.

“Belfast Community TV is pleased to be co-producing this program with WBFY and sharing the program with Community TV in Knox County," Ned Lightner, Belfast Community TV station manager said in a press release. "This project shows the cooperative spirit among community media in Midcoast Maine.”

The combined audience for the show is projected to reach over 30,000 households in Midcoast Maine.

George Frangoulis, producer and co-creator (with Lightner) of the show, said, “The goal of 'Good Morning, Belfast!' is to celebrate the good life in Belfast and Waldo County, Maine. The program covers the arts, business and community affairs, and features interviews with guests and performances by local musicians and entertainers.”

The show also includes segments on “Arts By the Bay,” “Notable Belfastians,” “Fun and Fascinating Facts of Waldo County,” and “Look Who’s Coming to Town,” along with other timely and thought-provoking topics.

"Good Morning, Belfast!" is produced in a studio on the second floor above The Old Professor’s Bookshop at 99 Main St. in downtown Belfast. However, for variety, some future shows will be produced at various locations outside the studio.
