Sherman Walter "Sherm" Davis, 67, passed away peacefully March 1, 2018, surrounded by his loving family after a battle with lung cancer. He was born Nov. 4, 1950, in Bangor.

He was predeceased by his parents, Walter R. Davis and Doris M. Davis.

Sherm enjoyed working in the woods and at sea until he became a fabrication welder, where he worked in Florida and in Rockland.

He also had a love for motorcycles, and eventually he ended up joining the motorcycle club Exiles, where he served a big part of his life with pride and honor.

Sherman is survived by his son, Travis Atwood, and girlfriend Elke Hawkes of Orland; daughter Jennifer Rogers and husband Kevin Rogers of Boothbay Harbor; two grandchildren, Jesse Davis of Verona and Chyanne Rogers of Boothbay Harbor; a very special friend, Louise Linsey, of Rockland; and many more he cared for dearly.
