The Come Boating! Winter Adventure Series continues at Belfast Free Library Tuesday, March 20, at 6:30 p.m. with Camden author W. Hodding Carter giving a presentation about his recent voyage retracing Benedict Arnold's 1775 expedition to sack Quebec City.

Come Boating!, Belfast’s community boating organization, and Belfast Free Library are cosponsoring this event which is free and open to the public.

On Sept. 26, 2017, a group of experiential historians, led by Carter, set off from Pittston, Maine, to retrace Benedict Arnold's 1775 expedition to sack Quebec City for the Continental Army. They built a replica 18th-century pine-planked bateau and covered a grueling 350 miles upriver, over land and then downstream to reach Quebec City on November 4, 2017.

The Winter Adventure Series concludes Tuesday, April 17, at 6:30 p.m., with a film presentation of "Losing Sight of Shore," a documentary by Sarah Moshman about the extraordinary journey of four brave women who set out to row the Pacific Ocean from America to Australia. This special screening is made possible with support from Front Street Shipyard.
