The Farwell Project is presenting and celebrating tales of Waldo County and beyond in a series of story-and-food events in and around the historic Farwell Mill.

The premiere Call for Stories series will continue Sunday, March 25, at 2 p.m. with “Elder Stories, Elder Ears.” Community elders will tell stories of marvel, mischief and mayhem, accompanied by tea and scones. All are welcome, with homeschoolers especially invited.

Space for this event at the Farwell Mill and Museum, 37 Gordon Hill Road, is limited to 25, so reserving ahead by calling 568-1213 or sending email to is recommended. Suggested donation is $2 to $3, $5 for family.

A couple more events are planned through June, and all will be recorded in audio and video. More information is available online at Those who have stories to tell are encouraged to call or email. The series is a project of Timelines Community, Inc, a 501(c)(3) Maine organization, produced through a grant from Maine Community Foundation.
