The "Becoming an Outdoors Woman in Maine" spring mini workshop is around the corner, on Sunday, May 20, at Bryant Pond 4-H Camp and Learning Center.

The "Becoming an Outdoors Woman" program provides opportunity for women who are ages 18 and older to gain or improve skills in hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation. The program is sponsored by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, and hosted by the University of Maine 4-H Camp and Learning Center at Brant Pond.

This one-day workshop is the perfect way to get out into the fresh air, meet new friends and learn new skills, said organizers of the event. Participants select three sessions to complete for the day on topics ranging from hiking and fly tying, to wild-game cooking and shooting sports.

The cost to attend is $85 and includes lunch and instruction, gear and equipment.
