The Rock Coast Rollers, the Midcoast’s local roller derby league, will host the third annual "Coastal Chaos" roller derby tournament Friday through Sunday, April 27-29 at the Midcoast Recreation Center.

Eight teams from across New England — and as far away as Texas — will compete in this Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA)-sanctioned tournament.

Tickets can be bought at the door for $10 per day.

This year, Rock Coast Rollers will host a Junior Roller Derby exhibition match during the "Coastal Chaos" tournament.

On Saturday, April 28 at 5:30 p.m., the Sabotage Siblings from New Hampshire Junior Roller Derby (NHJRD) will take on the East Coast Brawlers, from Canadian Fredricton Junior Roller Derby Association (FJRDA). Tickets to this event will be available at the door for $10, with children ages 12-and-younger free.

In Junior Roller Derby, skaters range in ages from seven to 17. Some skaters are new to skating, and some have skated for four years. Junior Roller Derby is the sport of roller derby modified for children and adolescents. The first teams appeared in 2006, and in 2009 the Junior Roller Derby Association (JRDA) was formally established, an organization that oversees rules that allowed for participation at all skill levels, help new league start up and promotes Junior Roller Derby.
