Snow and poor visibility contributed to a crash at the intersection of Route 1 and Lower Congress Street March 22.
According to Belfast Police, at 11:55 a.m. Janet Whalen, 59, of Searsport, was driving a Subaru Outback north on Route 1 and was attempting to turn left onto Lower Congress Street. She did not see a dark red Toyota Corolla heading south on Route 1 driven by Debbie Broadley, 60, of Stockton Springs.
The Toyota may have been hidden from view by a large truck traveling in front of her, police said. It also was snowing at the time of the crash.
The Toyota took the brunt of the collision with more visible damage to the front end, while the Subaru had some damage to the back right-side panel.
Belfast Ambulance took Broadley to Waldo County General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Whalen was not injured in the collision, police said.
No charges are expected.
