Penobscot Shores invites the public to its free annual Senior Health Fair Wednesday, April 25, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in its main building, Ocean House.

Experts and representatives from area agencies, businesses and organizations dedicated to the health and wellness of older adults will be on hand to discuss and provide information about a wide range of topics, including healthy aging, fitness and rehabilitation, sleep issues, dementia care, heart health, diabetes and nutrition, home health and hospice services, advance directives, aging and disability resources, hearing issues, safety and fraud prevention and more.

The Waldo Coounty Sheriff's Office will be present with its Drug Take-Back Program to take unused or expired medications. At the Waldo County General Hospital Medical Partners Orthopedics’ table, an orthopedic surgeon will be on hand to answer your questions about common joint and bone issues that arise as we age.

In addition, balance testing, Telehealth demonstrations and blood pressure checks will be available, along with free mini-massages, hand reflexology, and mini-acupuncture and AromaTouch hand therapy treatments.

Light lunch fare will be provided to fair-goers, compliments of Penobscot Shores' Chefs Diana and Charles Evans.

Tours of the community will be available during the health fair and are also offered by appointment.  Call the Penobscot Shores front desk at 338-2332 for more information.
