High school seniors interested in attending a service academy, and their parents or guardians, are invited to a Service Academy Night Wednesday, April 11. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 250 Haskell Road, Bangor.

This is an opportunity to learn more about the  educational opportunities service academies offer, the congressional nomination and academy selection processes, and ways to achieve career goals. Prospective applicants also can get questions answered by service academy professionals about admissions, career services and financial aid.

Representatives from the following will be in attendance: U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, private military colleges, Norwich University, The Citadel, Virginia Military Institute, Reserve Officer Training Corps, Navy/Marine Corps ROTC, Army ROTC, Air Force ROTC, offices of Sens. Susan Collins and Angus King, offices of Reps. Chellie Pingree and Bruce Poliquin, state maritime academies, Maine Maritime Academy, National Guard Scholar Programs, Maine Army National Guard, and Maine Air National Guard.
