Groove for the Gold offers the opportunity to get down on the dance floor while helping local students get to SkillsUSA Friday, April 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Waldo County Technical Center, 1022 Waterville Road/Route 137.

Groove for the Gold will feature live music by members of The Juke Rockets and Between Dead Stations, as well as WCTC guest performers; students from BCOPE and Searsport District High School; and other local musicians. There also will be a silent auction, concessions and a 50/50 raffle.

Admission is $10, $5 for students and free for children younger than 5. Funds raised will enable Waldo County Technical Center students participate in the SkillsUSA Championships, competitive events showcasing the best career and technical education students in the nation. Contests begin locally and continue through the state and national levels.

WCTC serves the Belfast, Searsport and Mount View school communities. For more information, call 342-5231 or visit waldotech.org.
