Local author Andrew Vietze will talk about his recent book, “White Pine: American History and the Tree that Made a Nation,” Wednesday, April 11, at 7 p.m. at Lincolnville Community Library, 208 Main St./routes 173/52, Lincolnville Center.

Vietze has written 12 books including the best-selling and critically acclaimed “Boon Island” and “Becoming Teddy Roosevelt.” A former managing editor of Down East Magazine and a registered Maine Guide, Vietze currently splits his time between an old farmhouse in Appleton and a cabin in the woods of Baxter State Park, where he works as a seasonal ranger.
