Are you itching to get out on the water? Coastal Mountains Land Trust board member Roger Rittmaster and staff member Hale Morrell will lead an early spring paddle from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at the Littlefield Preserve in Belfast.

Bring a boat, personal flotation device (PFD), water, binoculars, and appropriate weather gear. If you would like to participate but don't have a boat, or if you have a boat with an extra seat, call the office (236-7091) and they will try to pair folks up. Email to register for this free event.

Directions: From Route 1, turn onto Route 141 (Swan Lake Avenue), just north of the bridge crossing the Passagassawakeag River. Drive about 2 miles. Park at the Public Boat Launch along Swan Lake Avenue.

Hike-the-Guide is a series of monthly guided outings on Land Trust preserves listed in its Trail Guide. Held on the third Saturday of each month, the explorations are open to all ages and abilities.

Take the Hike-the-Guide Challenge: Visit 12 or more preserves by April 30, 2019, and receive an L.L. Bean backpack. Record your visits on the checklist at the back of Land Trust Trail Guide or download the checklist from the website,
