HeartSong offers “Soothing of Sorrows,” an evening of poetry and a cappella music offered for comfort and connection, Monday, April 30, at 7 p.m. in the Abbott Room of Belfast Free Library, 106 High St.

The program is offered to anyone who has experienced loss — the anguish of a broken relationship; the challenge of illness or injury; the death of a loved one; the loss of a job, a friend, a home — or is affected by current national and global uncertainty.

HeartSong is known for singing songs of comfort and peace for the dying, the infirm and their families. This evening, however, the group extends its friendship through music to whatever grief community members carry, old or new. Everyone is invited to join the volunteer group for songs and readings that honor their sorrow.

Light refreshments will be served following the program, which is free and open to the public. For more information, call 841-1715.
