Gabriel Baldwin — son of Peter Baldwin of Baldwin Apple Ladders; and former Belfast Poet Laureate Elizabeth Garber, acupuncturist and writer — will present workshops at the Freedom Makers Studio and The Playhouse in Belfast.

After transitioning out of a successful career as an engineer and consultant in the field of energy efficiency and green construction, Baldwin teaches mindfulness — something he first encountered as a teen — in public schools, afterschool programs and camps in greater Boston and beyond.

Friday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to noon, Baldwin will lead Growing Compassion and Calm: Mindfulness for Young and Old, a special offering for all ages, at Freedom Makers Studio, 25 Main St. in the village. Cost is $10; $5 for those age $5 4 to 19; and free for younger children. To register, call 322-6553 or email FreedomMakersStudio@gmail.com.

On Sunday afternoon, April 29, Baldwin will lead a free Belfast Meditation Retreat for all ages at The Playhouse, 107 Church St. in downtown Belfast. Space is limited, so registration is required via EventBrite.
