Damion Littlefield, 21, of Jackson, burglary of a motor vehicle, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, misuse of identification, burglary, theft.

According to police, a Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad worker on Feb. 21 noticed that someone had broken into a pickup truck belonging to the organization parked at a rail yard in Brooks. The incident went unreported until they learned that three storage units in town also had been burglarized. Additionally, they heard from their accountant that a credit card left in the glove compartment of the truck had racked up some unexplained charges. Using surveillance video from stores where the cards were used, Sheriff's deputies were able identify Littlefield, who was found in Bangor and charged in connection with both crimes.

Readers are reminded that an arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.
