Skilled volunteers will share practical knowledge over a cup of tea or coffee and a slice of cake during a bike and electrical Repair Café on Sunday, April 29, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Belfast Free Library.

Belfast Community Works is hosting this free event, which is all about helping the environment by keeping stuff out of the landfill, empowering people to try to make their own repairs, and building community.

Volunteers will help folks work on their bikes to repair a flat tire, oil chains, and perform general bike tune-ups. There will also be an area of tinkerers ready to work with community members to show them how to repair small broken appliances.

The public is encouraged to bring in broken "stuff" and any parts (e.g., bike inner tubes) that may help them to get their repairs done. Anyone who wants to come help out with repairs or bring over a café snack is also very welcome.

Belfast Community Works is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to be a shared space for makers, builders, tinkerers, and dreamers of all ages that enriches our community and encourages innovation, creativity, and connections throughout Belfast and beyond.
