On Wednesday, April 25, the Regional School Unit 20 Afterschool Program is hosting an educational forum on child abuse prevention. The event, "Let’s Talk About It: An Educational Community Forum on Child Abuse Prevention," takes place at the Searsport District Middle/High School cafetorium from 5 to 7 p.m.

The agenda for the evening includes a macaroni and cheese dinner from 5 to 5:30 p.m., a panel discussion from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and an opportunity for the audience to ask questions and receive answers from 6 to 6:30 p.m.  There will also be a variety of tables set up where community organizations will be offering information relating to the topic of abuse prevention.

The panel discussion will feature Jeff Trafton, Waldo County sheriff; Chris Downing, RSU 20 superintendent; Helen Rogers of Broadreach; Nicole Fallon of New Hope for Women; community leaders and supports; and plenty of resources.

Community members are encouraged to attend and contribute to the important discussion and exchange of information about how to strengthen Searsport and Stockton Springs communities to improve the safety and well-being of our children.

Child care will be provided by babysitting certified Girl Scouts of Stockton Springs Troop 2908.
