Bog denizens —peepers and others — are the focus of a vernal pool exploration Friday, May 4, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Join local ecologist and amphibian fanatic Larkspur Morton for a family-friendly springtime exploration of a vernal pool and protected wetland and their amphibian residents.

Bring a good flashlight or headlamp and wear footwear appropriate for wet areas, preferably tall rubber boots. Participants should bring an empty white plastic container (similar to the one tofu comes in); there will some available for those who are unable to bring their own.

Meet at the Bog Brook trailhead on Halldale Road in Montville (about a mile in off Route 220).
