Belfast Fire Department quickly snuffed out a brush fire at 58 Waldo Road in Waldo that was called in Wednesday at approximately 11:30 a.m.
The fire was started by the homeowner who was burning brush when flames began to drift toward a house.
Waldo Fire Department also responded to the call. No injuries were reported.
Another brush fire was called in Monday at 45 Lake Road in Frankfort.
At approximately 12:30 p.m., West Frankfort Fire Department responded to a brush fire that had gotten out of control and was moving close to a house.
No injuries were reported during that incident, either.
Maine Forest Service wildfire danger maps showed a portion of the state is prone to moderate fire danger as of 1 p.m. Wednesday, though significant rain is forecast this evening and overnight.
