Belfast Free Library, 106 High St., will host a workshop for teens, On Taking Better Pictures with Your Camera Phones, Wednesday, May 9, at 6 p.m. in the Abbott Room. The free program is recommended for age 11 through 17.

Photographer Rachel Epperly will lead a hands-on workshop, demonstrating tips and techniques for taking better camera-phone pictures. Teens will learn about subject, composition, lighting, editing and more. Participants should bring their camera-phones.

Epperly is a self-taught photographer and videographer based in Belfast. Her work ranges from portraiture to product photography, music videos (including the recent "Belfast, Maine" video for the Leaky Boot Jug Band) to promotion shorts. She believes that everyone should have access to unique and quality photography and videography experiences.
