Kenneth L. Shute, 87, of Searsport passed away peacefully at home on April 25, 2018. He was born on Sept. 8, 1930, in Newport, the son of Clair and Myra (Fickett) Shute.

Kenneth joined the military, serving in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years as both a tech sergeant and crew chief before retiring. While in the military, he participated in the Royal Flush aerial reconnaissance competition in Brussels, Belgium.

Once Kenneth returned home, he settled with his family in Searsport and purchased Belfast Glass company, which he owned and operated for over 20 years. During his life he enjoyed time spent camping, snowmobiling, fishing and going to stock car races.

He is predeceased by his parents, two infant sons, Kenneth and Craig, and great-granddaughter Autumn Lorene Shute.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anna Lorene Shute of Searsport; children Sharon Ann Lanpher and husband Warren of Searsport and North Port, Fla.; Vickie Shute of Fairfield; and Karen Shute and husband Steven Larochelle of Searsport; grandchildren Blaine Lanpher and Kevin Shute; six great-grandchildren and special cousin Paul Foulkes and family of Brownville.

A graveside service will be planned and announced in the summer of 2018. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home Belfast.
