With rain-shortened affairs and others that went the distance, it was an up-and-down recent few matches for the Belfast tennis teams in matches played Friday, April 27 and Monday, April 30.

The Lions defeated Medomak Valley of Waldoboro on Friday — the boys a 3-0 win in Belfast and the girls a 3-1 victory in Waldoboro — in a pair of matches that were shortened due to rain.

However, the Lions were dealt losses by talented Waterville on Monday as the Lion girls fell 5-0 in Belfast and the boys 4-1 in Waterville. The Purple Panthers are unbeaten early in the season.
