Belfast Dental Care and several other local businesses have joined forces to host Spring Fling, a party to raise funds for the tuition assistancep rogram at Cornerspring Montessori School.

The event, which takes place Saturday, May 26, 6 to 9 p.m. at the United Farmers Market of Maine, will feature the music of local favorites the Oshima Brothers. It is the largest fundraiser of the year for Cornerspring and funds the majority of their tuition assistance budget.

“The ability to offer tuition assistance to families who need it is so important,” said Sue Beemer, Cornerspring’s head of school. “We want access to a Montessori education to be available to everyone, because we truly believe that it sets children up to be thoughtful, engaged adults who will become the next generation of community builders.”

Belfast Dental Care is underwriting a significant portion of the event’s cost so that proceeds can go directly to tuition assistance . Other local businesses that have contributed include Little River Veterinary Clinic, Front Street Shipyard, and Total Property Care.

“We feel very fortunate to be a part of this community,” said Allison Piper, DMD, owner of Belfast Dental Care. “And Cornerspring has been a big part of our life in Belfast. The education our kids receive is second-to-none, and if we can make that experience more accessible for other local families, it’s our privilege to do that.”

Spring Fling sponsorships can be made by businesses or individuals and will be celebrated and promoted at the event. Sponsorships are the most significant source of revenue for the event, and are completely tax deductible.

Tickets are available at $15 in advance, at the school, or $20 the day of the event.
