'Run for Money 5K' takes off May 27 at Lincolnville Central School

Memorial Day weekend will bring with it a 3.1-mile road race as the "Run 4 the Money 5K" will race through Lincolnville on Sunday, May 27 at 10 a.m., with a children’s fun run at 9:30 a.m.

Race day registration runs 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Lincolnville Central School, located at 523 Hope Rd.

Participants can preregister using the online form on the MONEY Athletic Foundation website, pay by using the PayPal donate button and sign the release form on race day.

The cost is $25 for adults and $10 for children under the age of 12. There will be t-shirts for the first 60 registrants, and prizes in a number of categories.

Proceeds go to the MONEY Athletic Foundation Scholarship Program, which supports young athletes from the local area.

If one cannot make it to the race one can “virtually” walk or run a 5K from anywhere. Just make a donation via PayPal and send a course description, map, or photo to moneyathleticfoundation@gmail.com, so the group can post it on its Facebook page.
