It was a successful regular season on the high school courts for the Belfast tennis teams. Now, the Lions set their sights on the postseason, as both are playoff-bound.

Belfast will host playoff matches, as the Lion boys host a quarterfinal and the girls a prelim.

The following is a breakdown of the final Maine Principals' Association Heal Points Standings for Class B North and playoff matches for the Lion teams:

Boys

In Class B North, Belfast (9-3, 115.1389 points) finished fourth, while Waterville (12-0, 159.7222 points) finished first in the 17-team region. The top 12 teams qualify for the playoffs, thus, the Lions are playoff-bound.

The No. 4 Lions will host the winner of the prelim playoff match between No. 5 Ellsworth (7-5, 93.3333 points) and No. 12 Mount Desert Island (5-7, 62.2222 points) in a quarterfinal playoff match, time and date to be determined.

The Lions do not play the Eagles or Trojans during the regular season.

Girls

In Class B North, Belfast (6-6, 45.6944 points) finished eighth, while Caribou (12-0, 175.8333 points) finished first in the 17-team region. The top 12 teams qualify for the playoffs, thus, the Lions are playoff-bound.

The No. 8 Lions will host No. 9 Brewer (5-7, 32.5000 points) in a prelim playoff match on Tuesday, May 29 at 3:30 p.m. The Lions bested the Witches 3-2 in a regular-season match on May 16 at Brewer.

The winner will advance to face the No. 1 Vikings in the quarterfinals, time and date to be determined. The Lions and Vikings did not face each other during the regular season.
