The Belfast Free Art Group will replace the Belfast Free Sketchers and will focus on sharing a variety of art-related subjects and activities. The first meeting in the new format is Tuesday, June 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Abbott Room of Belfast Free Library, 106 High St.

Meetings will continue on the second Tuesday of the month. They are free and open to the public; and to various art interests and levels of experience.

Each session will open with a group sharing time of learning and projects that participants have been working on. There will be time for independent work in media and formats of each participant’s choosing, including sketching and painting. Attendees may bring their own projects and materials plus a desire to learn and to be inspired. During some sessions, a simple group project or hands-on activity may be presented by a group member or guest.

The enthusiastic sharing of art tips and stories that happened at Belfast Free Sketchers’ meetings is sure to continue, along with a good measure of laughter and fun. For more information, call the library at 338-3884, ext. 10.
