Soprano Nancy Riesgo will present a solo vocal concert, accompanied by pianist and harpist Amy Kercsmar, Saturday, June 9, at 11 a.m. at the Belfast United Methodist Church, 23 Mill Lane.

The program features favorite music studied during the past five years with Kathryn DerMarderosian at the Bay Chamber Music School. Selections will include a variety of songs by Vivaldi, Caccini, Schubert, Vaughan Williams, Powell, Dvorak and others, in styles ranging from classical to contemporary. Two Celtic pieces will be accompanied by Kercsmar on harp and Melissa Riesgo on flute.

The concert will benefit the Greater Bay Area Ministerium Food Cupboard, which serves about 500 clients per month from its location in the church. Those planning to attend are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to donate; boxed milk, breakfast cereal and peanut butter are always welcomed items.

Nancy Riesgo has been the music director at the church since 2004, where she directs the choir and plays for services. She has sung with local groups such as Impromptu, Midcoast Community Chorus, Penobscot Bay Singers and, currently, the hospice group Heartsong. For more information, call 338-0175.
