Sandra Oliver will be at the good table, 68 Main St., Saturday, June 9, at 1 p.m. for a cooking demonstration and signing of her new book, “Cooking Maine Style.”

The book is a carefully curated collection of recipes by Marjorie Standish, an iconic figure of New England cooking. Standish is known for her “Cooking Down East” column in the Maine Sunday Telegram. Oliver has incorporated Standish’s notes and anecdotes to add interest to the recipes.

Oliver is a resident of Islesboro and a food historian who currently has a weekly recipe column, “Taste Buds,” in the Bangor Daily News.
