Cold Comfort Theater is rehearsing “The Boys Next Door” by Tom Griffin. The play centers on the daily lives of four male residents of a group home for the mentally challenged, and their relationships with one another and their social worker. How they affect one another and how they interact with the outside world weaves a storyline alternately hilariously funny, sad, disturbing, warm and compassionate.

The cast includes Nathaniel Gray, Dakota Wing, André Blanchard, Matthew Norwood, Ben Trundy, Latricia Saucier-Graham, Jon Burroughs, Dorothy Wilson and Hannah Richards.

The show is directed by Aynne Ames, with Maggie Goscinski, stage manager; Autumn Stupca, assistant stage manager and costumer; Patricia Saucier, light and sound engineer; and Dorothy Wilson, props. Production photography is by Rachel Epperly, and poster and program design is by Erik Perkins.

The show will be presented at The Playhouse, 107 Church St. Performances will be Fridays through Sundays at 7 p.m., June 22 through July 1. The seating is very limited, so purchasing tickets in advance at Left Bank Books, 109 Church St., is advised. Tickets are $15 (cash/check only); a few might be available at the door.
