Midcoast Actors' Studio says “Wilkommen, Bienvenue, and Welcome” to this summer’s musical, “Cabaret.” The show will open Friday, Aug. 3, for a two-weekend run at the Crosby Center, 96 Church St.

Set in 1931 Berlin as the Nazis are rising to power, “Cabaret” focuses on the nightlife at the seedy Kit Kat Klub with its iconic Emcee; and revolves around young American writer Cliff Bradshaw and his relationship with English cabaret performer Sally Bowles. It was made into a 1972 Oscar-winning film with Liza Minnelli and Joel Grey.
