With area Little League championship games finished, the cream of the crop of Midcoast players now will focus on the present and future as District 2 baseball and softball all-star tournaments approach with tournaments in Rockland, Rockport and Damariscotta.

The tourneys are for players ages 9-10, 10-11 and 11-12. Teams from Five Town, Oceanside, Medomak Valley, Waldo County and Lincoln County will participate in the events.

The 11-12 softball tournament began with exhibition games on Sunday, June 17, with the official double-elimination tournament set to begin on Saturday, June 23 at Marge Jones Recreational Facility in Rockport. Teams from Oceanside, Medomak Valley and Five Town will participate.

The winner of the 11-12 softball tournament will represent District 2 at the state tournament, set to begin on Friday, July 6 in Machias.

The 11-12 baseball tournament began with exhibition games on Sunday, June 17, with the official double-elimination tournament set to begin on Saturday, June 30 at the Central Lincoln County YMCA Field in Damariscotta. Teams from Medomak Valley, Waldo County, Oceanside, Five Town and Lincoln County will participate.

The winner of the 11-12 baseball tournament will represent District 2 at the state tournament, set to begin on Saturday, July 20 in Machias.

The 9-10 baseball tournament began with exhibition games on Saturday, June 17, with the official double-elimination tournament set to begin on Saturday, June 30 at the E. Allen Gordon Field in Rockland. Teams from Oceanside, Five Town, Waldo County, Lincoln County and Medomak Valley will participate.

The winner of the 9-10 baseball tournament will represent District 2 at the state tournament, set to begin on Saturday, July 20 in Old Town.

There will be no 9-10 softball tournament as Medomak Valley, for the second straight year, was the lone area team to comprise a squad. Medomak Valley again will represent District 2 in the state tournament, which will begin on Saturday, July 14 in Glenburn.

There will be no 10-11 baseball tournament as Lincoln County was the lone team to comprise a squad. Thus, Lincoln County will represent District 2 in the state tournament, which will begin on Saturday, July 21 in Augusta.

Oceanside

11-12 baseball — Matthias McPhail, Evan Morse, Liam Porter, Brady Proctor, Gavin Ripley, Jacob Watkinson, Dylan Winslow, Daniel Butler, Connor Curtis, Jack Fifield, Dominic Frisone, Zak Higgins and Rhys Jones. The team is coached by Roger Porter, Bryan Morse and Jeremy Proctor.

9-10 baseball — Joshua Pratt, Owen Simmons, Nicholas Tripp, Nathan Walton, Frankie Whytock, Easton Willis, Thomas Geddis, Grady Geretz, Donovan Guptill, Hunter Hamilton, Alonzo Hoose and Jackson Kay. The team is coached by Jason Geretz, David Geddis and Jason Simmons.

11-12 softball — Aubrianna Hoose, Jordan Hoose, Alayna Marchessault, Emma Morrison, Ava Philbrook, Madolin Ripley, Ella Willis, Jillian Barnard, Liz Barstow, Bailey Breen, Chloe Drinkwater, Morgan Gehouskey and Mackenzie Hobbs. The team is coached by Rebecca Barstow, Casey Benner and Kate Marchessault.

Waldo County

9-10 baseball — Kaden Bradeen, Brady Bryant, Raven Carbisiero, Shane Carson, William Gibbs, Minh Ha, Stuart Knowlton, Luke Littlefield, Logan Powers, Dyson Thornley, Dawson Tripp and Alexander Whitney. The team is coached by Lenny Knowlton, Chester Tripp and Kyle Gibbs.

11-12 baseball — Ethan Abbott, Drew Bagley, Brady Clements, Aiden Davis, Ashton Ellis, Michael Gould, Dakota Harriman, Noah Houghton, Noah Hurd, Calvin Jewett, Eli Veilleux and Levi Winslow. The team is coached by Brandon Hurd, Tony Bagley and Travis Veilleux.

Five Town

Medomak Valley
