The District 2 Babe Ruth double-elimination tournaments officially are booked, as five teams will vie for two spots in the state events.

The 14-year-old tourney will feature Midcoast, Augusta and Central Maine, while the 15-year-old tourney essentially will be a best-of-three showdown between Midcoast and Lisbon.

The tournaments — which will overlap — will play out Friday through Sunday, July 6-8, and will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday and conclude Sunday afternoon.

All games will be played at Morrill Field in Rockland.

The Midcoast 15-year-olds consist of TD Bank-Rockland’s Joey Curtis, Matthew Spear, Aidan Munro and Finnegan Lynch; Rockland Ford’s Nate Coombs, Jonah Carlson, Tim Farrelly and Aidan Bonzagni; P.G Willey's Braden Moulton; Granite Coast Orthodontics' Obie Miller; Damariscotta Lions' Adam Sirois; Waldoboro's Max Moody and Clayton Belcher; and Penobscot Bay Dentistry's Tanner Veilleux and Tommy Walker. The team will be managed by TD Bank-Rockland’s Matthew Shields and coached by Waldoboro’s Matthew Moody.

The Midcoast 14-year-olds consist of Rockland Ford’s Austin Chilles, Duncan Oakes-Nelsen and Connor Calderwood; P.G. Willey’s Matt Kremin, Lucas Moody and Noah Thackeray; Newcastle’s Levi Farrin; Union Farm Equipment’s Blake Morrison; Granite Coast Orthodontics' Ryan Clifford and Adrian Pierce; Penobscot Bay Dentistry's Eamon Goscinski and Zepherin Leppanen; Waldoboro's Garret Hutchins; and Damariscotta Lions’ Nick Prior and Myles Wotton. The team will be managed by Rockland Ford’s Joe Nelsen and coached by Rockland Ford’s Jamie Chilles. Waldoboro’s Ethan Reed also was selected, but withdrew due to injury.

The 14-year-old tourney will begin on Friday, July 6 at 10:30 a.m. with a game between Augusta and Central Maine, as the winner will advance to face Midcoast at 1:15 p.m. the same day.

The loser of the Augusta/Central Maine game will face the loser of the second game in an elimination game on Saturday, July 7 at 10:30 a.m.

The remaining teams will vie for the District 2 title on Saturday, July 7 at 1:15 p.m., with the “if” game slated for Sunday, July 8 at 11 a.m.

The best-of-three showdown in the 15-year-old tourney will begin with game one on Friday, July 6 at 4:30 p.m. and game two on Saturday, July 7 at 4:30 p.m., with the winner-take-all game three, if necessary, slated for Sunday, July 8 at 2 p.m.

If an “if” game in the 14-year-old tourney is not necessary, and is for the 15-year-old tourney, that game will be played July 8 at 11 a.m.

The two Midcoast teams played an exhibition game on Sunday, July 1, as the 15s emerging with a 14-3 victory over the 14s.

For the 15s, Miller (3 hits, 3 runs), Spear (3-run home run), Munro (4 RBIs) and Wotton (hit, 2 runs, stolen base) paced the offense, while Oakes-Nelsen (RBI-single) and Kremin (RBI-single) led the 14s.
