Mary F. Gray: April 9 1932 – July 3, 2018.

Mary Sienna passed away peacefully July 3.

She loved Maine, dancing, family, buttons, rocks, antiques, books, Belfast, Senior College, walking the beach, Penobscot Shores, and all those she touched by just being herself.

Mary Sienna was born in Washington, D.C., to Catherine R. Ford and Arthur John Ford Sr. She graduated from Calvin Coolidge High School in 1950. Mary Sienna had five children and a full-time job when she decided, at age 38, to go to college. She received a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Bowie State College seven years later. She went on to be a licensed counselor for 30-plus years.

Mary then started a second life. She opened an antique mall, she found a love of geology, buttons and too many other passions to list. She lived in Florida, Maryland, Washington and finally retired to her beloved Maine with husband Miles who preceded her in death on March 26, 2018. She was also preceded by parents Catherine R. Ford and Arthur Ford Sr., brother Ralph Ford, brother Arthur Ford Jr. and son Mark Edward Johnson.

Mary is survived by children Susan Johnson, Stephen Johnson, Michael Johnson (Pat Johnson) and John Johnson (Allison Delong); and grandchildren Michael, Mark and Ford; and her special cousin Cathy Bradbury of Winterport.

We will miss her mischievous nature, her infectious smile, her blue eyes and, always, always, her dancing.

A funeral mass will be held at noon, Saturday, July 14, at Saint Francis Church, 81 Court St., Belfast, followed by a party, because Mary Sienna liked nothing more than a good party, at Penobscott Shores, 10 Shoreland Drive, Belfast, with food, beverages and dancing.
