Searsport began its Independence Day celebrations a day early July 3 with the historical society putting on the 13th annual Searsport Variety Show. As the society’s largest fundraiser, the event was well attended with locals putting on dance performances, singing songs, reading prose and playing music. The group closed out the night with a medley honoring those who served in our country’s armed forces.
