Penobscot Marine Museum finished the third week of its new Peapod Program Aug. 1.

With each week having its own New England-themed topic, including the colonial logging industry, shipbuilding, and a child’s life at sea, children and families get to learn what life would have been like in a different era of New England history.

Each week’s topic is covered through a reading from a children’s book, a guided tour of an exhibit, take-home arts and crafts, activities and games.

Next Wednesday marks the last day of the new program, with its final week being dedicated to lobstering. The program will start at 11 a.m. with free admission for all Searsport and Stockton residents and museum members.
