Stockton Springs Community Builders staged their second annual Harbor Days event July 28 with the help of the Stockton Harbor Sailing Center and other volunteers. Despite the rainy forecast, the day turned out to be beautifully sunny — perfect weather for a day of crafts, lawn games, sailing, kayaking, swimming and more.

Boat tours took families around the harbor and a lobster boat led kids on a search for buried pirate treasure, while back on land people made balloon animals, painted faces, and ate food.

The event, intended to bring members of the community together, drew an unexpectedly large turnout. With the first boat tour full within half an hour of the event’s start, organizers said they were happily surprised by the community’s support.

Two years ago, Harbor Days' sponsoring groups revived this day-long event, which once was a Stockton Springs tradition.
