The 36th annual Coastal Field Hockey Play Day Championships, a preseason event for high school squads, will swing in on Tuesday, Aug. 21 as five schools from coastal and central Maine will participate.

Camden Hills of Rockport, Mount View of Thorndike, Brewer, Hampden Academy and host Belfast will participate in the play day, which will begin at 10 a.m. on the Lion field.

Scoring for the play day is unconventional as one point is earned for a shot on goal saved by the goalie and five points for each goal scored. Each team will play four games, with a tournament champion declared at the conclusion of the final game based on the accumulation of total team points throughout the day.

Games are 25 minutes running time and concessions will be available.

The schedule of games is as follows: Camden Hills versus Belfast, 10 a.m.; Hampden Academy versus Mount View, 10:30 a.m.; Brewer versus Belfast, 11 a.m.; Mount View versus Camden Hills, 11:30 a.m.; Hampden Academy versus Brewer, noon; Brewer versus Mount View, 12:30 p.m.; Hampden Academy versus Camden Hills, 1 p.m.; Belfast versus Hampden Academy, 1:30 p.m.; Camden Hills versus Brewer, 2 p.m.; and Mount View versus Belfast, 2:30 p.m.
